MH

Margaret Halford

BRITISH RESIDENT · CHIANG MAI

"I had been meaning to sort through my documents for years and kept putting it off. The Documentation Toolkit made it manageable — I spent a couple of hours on it on a Saturday morning and got further than I had in a decade of procrastinating. It is just templates and folder labels but having them laid out properly makes an enormous difference."

Somchai Prasertchai

THAI NATIONAL · CHIANG MAI

"We had a collection of ceramics and textiles that came from my grandmother's house and none of us knew quite what we had. Wanchai came and spent the day photographing and taking notes. The catalogue he produced is really well done — thorough without being overly academic. It was the first time the family had a proper record of these things."

Jean-Pierre Devaux

FRENCH RESIDENT · CHIANG MAI

"As a French citizen with property in two countries, the question of how to keep my affairs in order has always felt complicated. Laura's seminar did not resolve every complexity — she was clear about what the session covers — but it gave me a sensible map of where to look for the right help. The resource list is genuinely useful."

Angela Wren

AUSTRALIAN RESIDENT · CHIANG MAI

"My mother was not well and I realised I had no idea where any of her important documents were stored. Nathalie walked me through the process very calmly and without any sense of urgency or sales pressure. Within a week I had everything organised and accessible. That mattered a great deal at a stressful time."

THAI NATIONAL · CHIANG MAI

"Our family attended the seminar as a group — three generations across two afternoons. Laura was patient with questions and did not pretend to answer things she said were outside the scope of the session. That honesty was reassuring. We came away with a clearer picture of what we should be doing and which professionals to contact."

David McAllister

SCOTTISH RESIDENT · CHIANG MAI

"The heirloom cataloguing was for my late father's collection of lacquerware and antique maps. It was something the family had been putting off. Wanchai was careful, knowledgeable about the objects and very respectful of their significance. The digital catalogue is thorough and well structured — it will be useful for a long time."

Client Stories in Detail

RH

Robert & Helen Saunders

RETIRED COUPLE · CHIANG MAI · DOCUMENTATION TOOLKIT

SITUATION

Robert and Helen had lived in Thailand for eleven years and had accumulated records from two countries — bank accounts, insurance policies, property documents and family contacts spread across physical folders and three email accounts.

WHAT THEY DID

They worked through the Documentation Toolkit over three weekends, attending one short review session with Nathalie at the end. They consolidated their records into a single folder structure, created a contacts sheet and wrote a set of plain-language instructions for their children.

OUTCOME

Within a month, their records were consolidated and their children in the UK had copies of the key contacts sheet. Robert noted that the process itself prompted useful conversations the family had been avoiding.

"The templates told us exactly what to gather. We had always known it needed doing — we just needed something to follow." — Helen Saunders

Priya Wongsuwan

CHIANG MAI · HEIRLOOM CATALOGUING

SITUATION

Following her mother's passing, Priya was the eldest of four siblings and found herself managing a home that contained three generations of meaningful objects — silk textiles, ceremonial items, jewellery and approximately 80 pieces of pottery of varying age and origin.

WHAT HAPPENED

Wanchai spent two days cataloguing the collection — photographing each item and recording what Priya could recall of its provenance. Where she was uncertain, he noted this clearly rather than guessing. The resulting file covered all 80+ objects with photographs, descriptions and any known history.

RESULT

The catalogue made it significantly easier for the family to discuss the distribution of objects. Where pieces carried particular stories, those stories were now recorded. Three items were later identified by a specialist as being of cultural significance, partly because the catalogue had prompted the family to look more closely.

"Having the catalogue meant the conversation with my siblings was about the objects, not about trying to remember what we had." — Priya Wongsuwan

Expat Community Group — Chiang Mai

GROUP BOOKING · GENERATIONAL PLANNING SEMINAR

SITUATION

A community group of 14 long-term foreign residents — from the UK, Germany, Australia and the US — wanted a structured session on how to think about their affairs in the context of living permanently outside their home countries.

THE SESSION

Laura delivered a half-day seminar covering the key administrative categories to consider, the types of official resources available in Thailand and internationally, and how different nationalities might approach the question differently. The Q&A ran well over time.

FEEDBACK

Twelve of the fourteen attendees followed up with questions or actions after the session. Several made appointments with their home-country consulates within the following month. The group described the session as clarifying rather than comprehensive — which, several noted, was exactly what they had needed.

"It made the subject feel approachable. Laura was honest about what she could and could not address, which made what she did cover more credible." — Group organiser
